In the future, a new enchanting system is likely to be implemented on the server. The plan is to entirely overhaul the existing system to be more effective and less based upon chance. The thought is that you will use your levels to "buy" enchantments, and upgrades for existing enchantments through a new UI. You may also be able to obtain other things using experience, such as rare items. The UI and functionality have yet to be fully defined or designed, however.

Our server allows you to use a new enchanting system which is entirely based upon choice, rather than random luck. You can choose which enchantments you want on what items, and spend your levels the way you want. The system is optional, and can be disabled using the Settings Menu. This feature will be made available in the next released version, which will be available when SpoutPlugin is updated for minecraft 1.3.
